Flexible Height Adjustment
The rocker arm swings via a hydraulic cylinder, typically 60°-70° upward and 15°-25° downward, adapting to varying coal seam thicknesses. The hydraulic cylinder and rocker arm are hinged at the center, and the swing angle is controlled by a hydraulic system, offering easy operation and stepless height adjustment.
Optimized Coal Loading
The curved rocker arm design allows for a larger coal loading port, increasing loading efficiency. The rocker arm's end connects to the drum with a square coupling sleeve. The drum diameter can be adjusted from 1.6 to 2 meters, depending on the coal seam thickness, to meet diverse mining requirements.
Cooling and Lubrication System
The rocker arm housing is equipped with a cooling water jacket, which sprays dust to reduce dust while cooling the gears and bearings to prevent overheating. For example, the last gear in the cutting mechanism also acts as a gear pump, providing lubricating oil to the high-speed shaft, enhancing lubrication efficiency.
Straight rocker arm
The rocker arm is straight, with a roller mounted at the end. The arm swings as a whole when raised. Its simple structure reduces manufacturing and maintenance costs. It is suitable for mining thin coal seams and avoids interference with hydraulic supports.
Curved rocker arm
The rocker arm is curved, with the roller mounted at the end of the curved section, providing a larger coal loading area. This increases the coal handling space by 20%-30%, improves the lump coal rate by over 15%, and significantly improves loading efficiency. It is suitable for mining medium-thick and thick coal seams.
Dual-section rocker arm
Composed of two independently swinging sections, the first section swings up and down, while the second section rotates 360°.
This expands the mining height range and is suitable for mining in extremely thick coal seams. It can be used for longwall face cutting, shortwall face full-seam mining, and coal tunneling.
Thin Coal Seam Mining
A short machine body and low-base design, combined with chainless or chain-driven travel, enables efficient cutting of thin coal seams. Extremely thin coal seams under 1.3m thick require a compact structure to fit into confined spaces.
Medium-Thick Coal Seam Mining
A straight or curved rocker arm structure combined with a large-diameter drum improves coal loading efficiency. Medium-thick coal seams (1.3-3.5m thick) require a balance between coal loading efficiency and structural strength.
Thick and Extra-Thick Coal Seam Mining
Dual-section rocker arm or long rocker arm designs extend the mining height range. Thick coal seams over 3.5m thick require a large mining height and strong support capabilities.
Transmission System
Gearbox: Contains multi-stage reduction gears (spur gears + planetary gears) for power transmission and reduction.
Clutch: Used to cut power in an emergency to protect the transmission system.
Idler Assembly: Extends the wheelbase and increases the rocker arm length to accommodate different cutting requirements.
Height Adjustment System
Hydraulic Cylinder: Adjusts the drum height by controlling the rocker arm's swing angle through telescopic movement.
Pin-Shaft Articulation: The rocker arm, machine body, and height adjustment cylinder are connected via pins, providing a simple and reliable structure.
Auxiliary Devices
Cooling System: A water channel is installed in the outer casing to spray dust and cool the gears and bearings.
Lubrication System: A forced lubrication system ensures lubrication of the planetary head and gear transmission case when the rocker arm is raised.

Working Principle of Rocker Arm
Power Transmission Process: Cutting motor → Flexible torque shaft → Rocker arm drive shaft → Spur gear reduction → Planetary gear reduction → Drum, which drives the drum to rotate and cut the coal wall.
Height Adjustment Process: Hydraulic system → Height adjustment cylinder extends and retracts → Rocker arm swings around the pin → Drum height changes to adjust to coal seam thickness.
Materials and Processing
The gears feature a hardened tooth surface design (large displacement, large module, and a small number of teeth) to accommodate low-speed, heavy-load conditions.
The housing is constructed of high-strength alloy steel, precision-cast, and heat-treated to ensure structural strength.
